Driver/Utility

The Driver is a key member of the manufacturing operations team responsible for the safe and timely transportation of parts, materials, and equipment between facilities, suppliers, and job sites. This role also supports logistics coordination, including scheduling deliveries, maintaining transport records, and assisting with materials handling and inventory activities. The ideal candidate will also be tasked with helping to support in the Manufacturing department when no driving is required.  A valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is required.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Safely operate company vehicles (including commercial vehicles requiring CDL) to transport materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Schedule, coordinate, and execute deliveries and pickups to support manufacturing and production schedules.
• Communicate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Load and unload materials using proper equipment and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and paperwork in compliance with DOT and company standards.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in organizing and staging materials for transport and delivery.
• Support warehouse operations including receiving, stocking, and inventory movement as needed.
• Fill in as needed in the Manufacturing department, some of these duties may include assisting in the Saw room, helping to support machining operations with duties such as filling machines with coolant, removing/emptying steel and aluminum chip hoppers, cleaning or organizing areas of the shop.
• Ensure cleanliness and basic maintenance of delivery vehicles.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL (Class A or B) with a clean driving record.
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience preferred, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

General Requirements:

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
