Key Account Manager - Universal Machines

The Key Account Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding relationships with GROB’s key accounts in mainly aerospace and defense customers for our Universal Machines. This role requires a balance of technical knowledge, strategic planning, and customer-centric sales execution, with the goal of aligning GROB’s solutions to customer needs and long-term programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer & Account Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned key accounts.
- Build and maintain strong, multi-level relationships within customer organizations.
- Understand customer business models, procurement processes, and long-term objectives.
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities in machine tools, automation, applications, and services.
Technical Sales & Project Support
- Educate customers on GROB’s capabilities.
- Lead the development of technical and commercial proposals in coordination with engineering and applications teams.
- Act as an internal advocate for the customer to ensure seamless project execution and support.
Strategic & Industry Engagement
- Develop and execute strategic account plans with clear goals and milestones.
- Stay current on trends, programs, and players in the market.
- Represent GROB at trade shows, conferences, and customer events to promote the brand and strengthen relationships.
- Provide market feedback to internal teams to influence product development and company strategy.
Sales Reporting & Performance
- Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to broader business growth objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of pipeline activity, forecasts, and customer interactions using CRM.
- Report on key account metrics, including project progress, win/loss rates, and customer satisfaction.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years experience as an Applications Engineer role dealing with complex 5-axis parts or capital equipment sales.
- Strong technical background in machining and machine tools
- Demonstrated success in managing strategic accounts or complex sales cycles
General Requirements:

- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Willing to travel national and international
