Mechanical Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

This position requires working with designers in the AutoCAD and NX design/detailing of CNC machining centers, automation and robotics. The ideal candidate must be motivated and want to work with others to learn how to detail and design equipment.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in debug and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and components
  • Document designs in SolidWorks
  • Investigate, develop, and implement process changes/improvements for the manufacturing process
  • Performance and or participate in project team meetings
  • Maintain organized and detailed records of activities undertaken in support of work activities
  • Meets agreed to schedules and commitments
  • Participate in project activities to support Engineering team activities
  • Gathers, records and maintains engineering specific information
  • Specifies, designs, develops and/or validates product components
  • Generates concepts for improved designs and processes

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Student in qualified Mechanical Engineering Degree program
  • High school diploma and upper level mechanical engineering coursework required (junior to senior level courses taken)
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited institution for a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with Pro/E and/or SolidWorks is desired
  • Candidate currently studying Mechanical Engineering
  • Excel tool knowledge

 

General Requirements:

  • Self-motivated and team player
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong math skills and understanding of mechanics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
