Plasma Nitride Operator

The primary responsibility of the Heat Treat Specialist will be the heat treatment of custom parts to part print specification. The operator is responsible for machine set-up, maintenance, program editing and maintaining the proper cycles to obtain specified heat treatment or coating. This will primarily be related to our Plasma Nitriding system used to process parts for our in-house production.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform machine set-up
- Perform machinery maintenance as needed
- Determine the most efficient processing steps to include fixturing, masking, cleaning, loading, and unloading of parts, while maintaining quality
- Safely and efficiently transport equipment and materials by means of forklift or crane
- Additional tasks as required
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Metallurgy preferred but not required
- Previous Machining or Manufacturing experience a plus
- Must be able to accurately read part prints
- Must exhibit a clear understanding of the metric system and proficient math skills
- Must have experience with various types of metals
- Must exhibit knowledge of material properties
- Must exhibit knowledge of Heat Treatments pertaining to Plasma Nitride, Stress Relieve, and Black Oxide
- Basic Understanding of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

- Ability to handle changing of priorities
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Able to work independently and in a team setting
- Exhibit problem solving capabilities
- Willing to work overtime as deemed necessary by the company
- Willing to travel domestic and international (mainly for training purposes).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
