SAP ABAP Developer

SAP/ABAP developer is responsible for designing and creating software programs and applications through the SAP and ABAP programming codes. Conduct multiple diagnostic tests for newly created and existing applications to ensure adherence to quality standards and requirements. Also provide technical resolution to end-users for their system issues and upgrade infrastructure to prevent the reoccurrence of downtimes and system failures. An SAP/ABAP developer must have excellent communication and technical skills, especially in evaluating features for smooth navigation and operations.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage design, development and implementation of ABAP projects.
  • Review and revise technical designs to meet ABAP project requirements.
  • Recommend process improvements to achieve project goals.
  • Act as the technical expert, ensuring quick turnaround in identifying application issues and providing timely solutions.
  • Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of project.
  • Transform business function requirements into technical program specs to code, test and debug programs.
  • Develop, code, document and execute unit tests, systems, integration and acceptance tests and testing tools for functions of high complexity.
  • Perform performance tuning to improve performance over multiple functions
  • Manage operational support, performing work during change windows as well as providing on call support as required by the team.
  • Undertake performance tuning activities for SAP integration activities.
  • Mentor and coach junior developers.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of ABAP experience
  • Strong object orientation experience
  • Working experience on writing ABAP code for SAP SD (2 years )
  • SAP List Viewer (ALV)
  • Excel Import/Export by using ABAP
  • Gateway development
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to write technical specifications.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowing German Language is additional advantage
  • Mechanical industry experience, ability to write functional specifications are added advantages.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables at the same time.
