Safety Engineer Intern

The Safety Engineer Intern is responsible for Assisting GROB’s Safety Professional to identify and improve safety processes within a manufacturing environment to provide the safest work environment possible for GROB employees.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Assist GROB’s Safety Professional with the following:
- Provide appropriate safety and health, accident prevention, and investigation training for all employees
- Assist management in the inspection of worksites to assure safe conditions for employees; prepare recommendations to management on ways to reduce and/or eliminate identified hazards
- Complete timely and thorough incident investigations with appropriate documentation and develop measures to prevent further occurrences
- Conduct job safety and PPE assessments; recommend PPE purchases as necessary
- Participate in and/or lead safety meetings
- Additional tasks as required
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Enrolled in a relevant degree program, preferably in environmental health and safety discipline
- Knowledge of basic OSHA principles
- Knowledge of basic environmental laws and regulations including RCRA, CAA, EPCRA, and CWA
General Requirements:
- Must be self-motivated and able to problem solve complex situations while utilizing available resources
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exhibit strong problem-solving capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
