Welding Intern

The Welding Co-Op will support our welding and fabrication operations by assisting with hands-on welding tasks, equipment setup, quality checks, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is designed for students pursuing a welding, fabrication, or manufacturing-related degree who want to gain practical, real-world experience in an industrial setting.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist with MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding tasks under supervision.
- Prepare materials, set up jigs, and organize workstations for daily production needs.
- Inspect welded components for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
- Support troubleshooting of weld issues, equipment adjustments, and fixture alignment.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment following company safety protocols.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, including 5S, lean manufacturing, and process optimization.
- Document work performed and assist with data collection for engineering or quality projects.
- Collaborate with welders, technicians, and supervisors to learn best practices and improve workflow.
General Requirements:
- Enrolled in a Welding Technology, Fabrication, Manufacturing, or related technical program.
- Basic welding knowledge and familiarity with common welding processes.
- Ability to read measurements and use hand/power tools safely.
- Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Must meet eligibility requirements for co-op programs through your school.
