GPS Lead

The GPS Lead provides leadership and direction to drive the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles throughout all operations and processes. These efforts will mainly improve productivity, reduce waste, and reduce manufacturing costs. The ideal candidate will effectively build trust and positive relationships with employees at all organizational levels and ultimately create greater customer satisfaction by eliminating unnecessary complexity within company processes. This position requires international travel.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Investigate, experiment, and implement processes to maximize productivity
- Provide tactical coaching on Lean Methodology and Continuous Improvement Techniques (Six Sigma)
- Provide manufacturing with packaging and technical engineering support to implement new products and processes into production and ensure they follow industry regulations and standards
- Create and maintain an environment of continuous improvement by actively managing projects to improve overall quality
- Proactive problem solving on the basis statistic analysis of corrective actions
- Selection and development of tools and fixtures for improvements
- Take ownership of change initiatives from inception to project delivery
- Employ a working knowledge of standard-work to ensure every work activity is properly defined, displayed and accurately followed by employees to enable safety adherence and consistent quality
- Complete post implementation reviews in a timely manner to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and to ensure that improvements can be made for future projects
- Work in collaboration with sister plants when implementing similar topics/initiative
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or associate degree minimum in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or other related education
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working within the engineering/technical field
General Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly with technical information that must be conveyed in a clear and convincing way
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Willing to work overtime as needed
- Willing to travel domestic and international
- Must be self-motivated and able to problem solve complex situations while utilizing available resources
